FGC – OPERATION ‘LETTER RAID’

Image001

Leaders and Campaigners,

We seek your active involvement in this direct action phase for the fair indexation of military superannuation pensions.

As part of the Fair Go Campaign we urge you, your family and friends, to become part of “OPERATION LETTER RAID”. The operation initiated by Neil Weekes is part of the FGC's  Second Front “People Power”.

The three attachments will explain the operation and ask you to write letters, provide you with a brief and a sample letter.

This “letter raid” is being undertaken by a number of organisations and we hope to bombard Parliament House in a coordinated manner.  It is anticipated the campaign could achieve over 50,000 letters arriving at Parliament House within a span of two days.

·         How effective can a letter campaign be?

·         I am reminded of the American Revolution and the words of two well known participants on the influence of Thomas Paine.  Paine’s writing of “Common Sense” was so influential that John Adams reportedly said, “Without the pen of the author of ‘Common Sense,’ the sword of Washington would have been raised in vain.”

Thomas Jefferson sent a letter to Thomas Paine in 1796, in which he wrote: “Go on doing with your pen what in other times was done with the sword.”

For us People Power will be felt by the pen now to the Parliamentarians and later at the ballot box.

Thank you for your support.

Let's do it
